“You shall not commit adultery. — Exodus 20

‘The man who commits adultery with [another] man’s wife, [he] who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death. — Leviticus 20

“Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also. — Jeremiah 3

because they have done disgraceful things in Israel, have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives, and have spoken lying words in My name, which I have not commanded them. Indeed I know, and [am] a witness, says the LORD. — Jeremiah 29

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. — Matthew 5:27-37

Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body [with her?] For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” — 1 Corinthians 6

Adultery ALWAYS involves a married woman

CHEATING

The current modern understanding of cheating in relationships is a non-biblical standard introduced by the so called queen of heaven mentioned in the bible who took on the role of goddess of women and marriage as seen in the images below.

In this article we are focusing on the definition of adultery as opposed to cheating, there is nowhere in scripture that supports the modern definition of cheating.
