YAHites LEADERSHIP GUIDE

There are three types of leadership roles in the body of MessiYAH

  • Those Called Chosen And Gifted By YAHushuWaH
  • Those Who Desire To Serve The Church / Ekklesia / Body Of MessiYAH
  • Those Chosen By The Brethren

…And He Himself gave some [to be] apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, — Ephesians 4:11 NKJV

This is the five fold ministry given to the Church / Ekklesia / Body Of MessiYAH.

…But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men… — Ephesians 4:7-8 KJV

…And He Himself gave some [to be]… — Ephesians 4:11 NKJV

Contrary to popular opinion you cannot go to school college or seminary to be qualified for any of these positions. The qualification comes from being selected by YAHushuWaH himself. Which becomes evident by their fruits.

The fivefold ministry is filled by men with functional gifts given by YAHushuWaH to serve the body of believers. They are not titles they are functions.

We shall firstly address those who are called chosen and gifted by YAHushuWaH himself.

Following is a list of the five fold ministry and the attributes that denote each one.

Apostles

Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord? — 1 Corinthians 9:1 KJV

Apostle by definition means sent one or one who is sent

Here are are the distinct markers of an apostle APOSTOLOS

  • Seen YAHushuWaH
  • YAHushuWaH instructs them directly
  • YAHushuWaH sends them
  • Have specific apostolic signs
  • They leave their previous life behind
  • Set things in order in the ekklesia/body of MessiYAH/church

There are no apostles in existence like the 12 chosen by YAHushuWaH himself and who contributed to the canon of scripture used across the earth.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. — Revelation 21:14 KJV

There are those who are apostles APOSTELLO who have an apostolic calling to do a specific work or accomplish a specific task or tasks, but, not like the 12 Apostles.

Prophets

And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, [I] the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, [and] will speak unto him in a dream. — Numbers 12:6 KJV

Anyone who prophesies claiming to be a prophet and it does not come to pass is a false prophet not sent by YAH

Evangelists

And the next [day] we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was [one] of the seven; and abode with him. — Acts 21:8

Evangelists are led by the holy spirit to go out and share the gospel.

Pastors

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. — Jeremiah 3:15

Pastors which literally means shepherds feed the sheep and look out for the sheep.

Teachers

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; — 2 Timothy 4:3

As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, — 1 Timothy 1:3

Teachers teach the doctrine of YAHushuWaH as revealed through the 12 Apostles

CHOSEN BY THE BRETHREN

Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. — Acts 6:3 KJV

The brethren can choose men to cater for the daily needs of the body of believers to ensure there is no lack. The criteria for these men are as follows;

  • Good reputation
  • Received the baptism of the holy spirit and are walking in the fullness of the holy spirit
  • Have proven wisdom in their dealings

THOSE DESIRING TO SERVE BY OVERSEEING

This [is] a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. — 1 Timothy 3:1 KJV

Bishops and elders have a specific criteria to qualify as an overseer in the body of believers / called out assembly

Therefore a bishop / overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil. Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. — 1 Timothy 3:2-13 ESV

All of these positions/roles are functions with specific outcomes for the body of believers.

This is a very short and basic guide.
