HOW A GODLY MAN ACQUIRES A WOMAN / WIFE ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE

that each one of you know how to take a wife for himself in holiness and honor, — 1 Thessalonians 4:4 RSV

At the time of writing these posts I could find nothing on these subjects namely…

• HOW TO BECOME A WIFE SUBMITTING TO A GODLY MAN AS YOUR HUSBAND ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE

Simple guidelines like these would benefit the body of christ and even the world no end.

Apostle Paul was very clear in his holy spirit guided instructions to believers.

But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please [his] wife. — 1 Corinthians 7:32-33 KJV

So here it is the first of the two articles listed above.

Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time [was] the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith Yah, and thou becamest mine. — Ezekiel 16:8

As a man of Yah you have to understand that your ultimate goal with any woman you acquire will be in fulfilling the following instructions;

Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife [see] that she reverence [her] husband. — Ephesians 5:25-33 KJV

So you must understand that you are taking on a divine responsibility when acquiring a woman. The way a man treats his woman has spiritual ramifications.

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. — 1 Peter 3:7 

The significance of the skirt in the commandments is that it represents your obligation and commitment as a man of Yah to being a husband within the order of the commandments of Yah and NOT the world.

The significance of covering her nakedness / shame is vitally important, what you must understand is that (no matter what she thinks about herself or has been told by her doting relatives) there is no perfect woman, regardless of whether she is a virgin, a non virgin, a divorcee, a widow or an ex harlot, so be prepared man of Yah, because it is your responsibility to make her perfect.

…I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee

It is the responsibility of the man to lay out the terms of the marriage covenant to the woman which mandatorialy as standard includes the provision of food clothing and conjugal rights.

If the woman wants she can also forego food and clothing provisions, if she can take care of these herself, neither you nor the woman can change this arbitrarily AFTER becoming one flesh.

As long as you have shelter she has shelter. If she has a separate abode that she prefers to stay in that is okay.

I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to be clear with communicating your covenant to the woman avoid confusion, discord and bitterness later on in the marriage.

If the woman does not want to submit to the terms of your covenant that you swear to uphold then walk away. Simple, do not argue do not debate just walk

If the woman is a virgin or under the authority of her father in his house, you MUST get authority / permission from her father or the responsible adult male in her life. No eloping allowed. There would also be a dowry of some sort, not necessarily money.

If the woman is not a virgin or under the authority of her father (figure) in his house then there is no dowry necessary.

Let me be clear men, this woman is not a secret woman, or secret wife, you must make it clear that she is your woman publicly or to others.

To seal the marriage covenant then you will take the woman and become one flesh with her. Then she will be your woman / wife.

What about the ceremony? I hear some ask.

You can celebrate with a meal before or after making her yours.

Although a marriage license is NOT required as a man you should in this day and age put certain paperwork in place for the protection of the woman

A wicked woman is given as a portion to a wicked man: but a godly woman is given to him that feareth the Lord.

Sirach 8

If you acquire a wicked woman understand that you got her because you have been wicked.
