A shameless woman shall be counted as a dog; but she that is shamefaced will fear the Lord.

SHAMELESS

One of the synonyms for shameless is ‘unrepentant’, which is defined as ‘showing no regret for one’s wrongdoings’

Another synonym for shameless is the word, ‘wanton’, which is found a few times in scripture, it means, ‘sexually unrestrained’ or having many casual sexual relationships, which is now called ‘dating’ (typically used of a woman).’

Isaiah 3:16 KJV — Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

1 Timothy 5:11 KJV — But the younger widows refuse: for when they have begun to wax wanton against Christ, they will marry;

James 5:5 KJV — Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

Just for good measure, let us look at one more synonym with regards to the word ‘shameless’.

The word brash literally means ‘self-assertive in a rude, noisy, or overbearing way.’

We could continue looking into the synonyms to get an even fuller understanding. However, I think you get the picture by now.

So the scriptures have a definition for a woman who is shameless, in the modern vernacular we could call her a ‘bitch’. Sadly many women today wear that word as a badge of honour, and the qualities of a shameless woman are now actually celebrated, promoted and presented as inspirational and aspirational…

…and as if by design, the women who do take on that moniker are perfect living examples for all the synonyms of ‘shameless’.

If you are a woman and you can identify with any of the behaviours mentioned above, or any of the synonyms attached to the word ‘shameless’, I have one word for you and passages of scriptural instructions. REPENT.

1 Timothy 2:9 KJV — In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

1 Timothy 2:10 KJV — But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

A shamefaced and faithful woman is a double grace, and her continent mind cannot be valued.
Sirach 26:15 [KJV]

A holy and shamefaced woman is grace upon grace.
Sirach 26:19 [D-R]

Before a storm goes lightning: and before shamefacedness goes favour: and for your reverence good grace shall come to you.
Sirach 32:14 [D-R]

I hope that if you are a woman this will be a wake up call to walk in holiness as a daughter of Sarah and no longer be led astray by the daughters of eve, women in the church, who have gone after Satan

1 Timothy 5:14-15 KJV — I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. For some are already turned aside after Satan.

1 Peter 3:1-6 NLT — In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives. Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. This is how the holy women of old made themselves beautiful. They trusted God and accepted the authority of their husbands. For instance, Sarah obeyed her husband, Abraham, and called him her master. You are her daughters when you do what is right without fear of what your husbands might do.
